Scot (3) Andy Murray, Serb (8) Janko Tipsarevic and (19) Frenchman Richard Gasquet won the first three gentlemen's tune-up events for the first Major. Tipsarevic and Gasquet survived tough three setters while Murray shot past upstart Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria 7-6(0) 6-4 despite trailing by a break during each set.
